Submission Guidelines

Submissions to the Journal of Information technology for Development can be either research or practice papers. Research papers go through a double blind review process. This is a pretty rigorous process through which few papers get accepted for publication. In order to successfully complete the review process, research papers need to 1) identify an area in It for development that needs to be research and why this is important, 2) develop a theoretical background based on what is known about the question being studied, 3) develop a methodology that enables this to be empirically researched and finally make a contribution to the field of IT for Development.

Practice papers are reviewed by practitioners and often report of studies based on empirical data, opinion, or policy directions. Such papers should make a contribution to practice and provide guidelines for better ways in which It can be adopted in these environments.  It is my sense that your paper would fit this category better.

After initial screening, full research papers will be reviewed by at least three members of the editorial board for quality, consistency and research contribution. Authors are welcome to nominate an editorial board member for review when submitting their papers. Particular attention will be paid to the use of chosen research method. Papers published in the Journal can be found through the following website at Taylor and Francis by clicking here. It is recommended that authors read these papers and build upon the work already published in the Journal when preparing their won manuscripts.

Further manuscript submission instructions can be found by clicking here. You can view the status of your manuscript at any time by checking your Author Center after logging into Manuscript Central . If you have difficulty using this site, please click the 'Get Help Now' link at the top right corner of the site.

Your paper must contain original results and must not be submitted elsewhere while it is being evaluated for the Journal of Information Technology for Development. If you have submitted a version of this paper to another outlet, please let us know and ensure that it is cited in your submission. When a duplication is discovered, papers are subject to rejection for that reason alone. Manuscripts that have already appeared in publication will not be considered for this journal.

Thank you for reading the submission guidelines. Please send us an email, if you have any questions.
